      Mars Exploration: Then and Now

On Wednesday, December 9, 2020 The Wayne Public Library will present a virtual Lunchbox Learning Program via Zoom™ entitled ”Mars Exploration: Then and Now”. The speaker will be Michael Greene, Solar System ambassador for NASA. This program will explore the earliest sightings of Mars by telescope through the investigation of the surface of Mars and its moons by NASA.

Mike Greene has been passionate about all aspects of space exploration since the selection of America’s Project Mercury astronauts in 1959. He possesses extensive knowledge of NASA’s manned and unmanned missions from the past to the present, and also what lies in the future. His goal as Solar System Ambassador is to convey to his audience the same sense of pride and excitement that he still feels for this wonderful journey in which we are all participants.

The Solar System Ambassadors (SSA) program is a volunteer public engagement program managed by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California. The SSA program works with motivated volunteers across America to share the latest scientific discoveries of NASA’s missions through a variety of events that inspire their communities. Mike is perfectly suited to deliver this message to anyone with their eyes on the skies.

Please register via the Wayne Public Library Website Calendar by clicking on the date of the program. This program begins on Zoom™ at 12:00 pm.
